>As Maurice never had much of a personality in the book, I went very lightly off of a highschool play’s interpretation of him - A casual joker, but eventually brought down by his own Foolishness, much like Jack is brought down by his Aggression and Simon is brought down by his Compassion.
>He adores the twins to death, but becomes appropriately worried about his relationship with them due to the split. He can handle Jack’s wrath pretty well on his own, but he doesn’t want to see how Samneric handle it.
>He is a pretty casual friend. He’s a big tease and is generally affectionate, but I think big committed intimacy might bother him a little; obviously he’s just a kid, but on an even deeper level, I think he’s afraid to be serious. This is a common attribute of people who are depressed or emotionally unstable, just as an extra interesting fact.
>Falling in line with my headcanons/overanalysis of the two other main choir boys (Roger and Jack), Maurice might never fully understand their collective turmoil.
